The Ai-95 gasoline price went up 16,45 to 17,25 leis and the diesel price rose 15,65 to 16,45. the las growth in prices for oil products was registered 10 months ago, on May 2011.

The main cause of the current increase is devaluation of Moldovan Lei, experts think: at the beginning of last May the official exchange rate of MDL against USD amounted to 11,5152; in February, 2012 it averaged 11,8781 MDL against USD 1. Devaluation has equaled 3,15%.

Since January,1, 2012 excises on oil products grew 7% approximately. Operators of the market say a tone of gasoline and a tone of diesel cost USD 1100 and USD 1000 respectively at PLATTS'. The global price reached their 6-month peak.
