OREANDA-NEWS. March 07, 2012. Gazprom Neft has expanded its list of projects to be implemented in 2012 under the Company’s socio-economic agreements with the authorities in its regions of operation.
Additional projects have been planned in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region and in Omsk. The Company will build a leisure centre in Noyabrsk and renovate sports facilities in Muravlenko and the village of Khanymei, going above and beyond the terms of the previously-approved programs. Also in Omsk, the Company plans to finance repairs to educational institutions and healthcare facilities, landscaping of areas in residential districts and construction and renovation of sports fields.
Overall in 2012 Gazprom Neft will implement a number of infrastructure modernisation projects in its major regions of operation. The multifunctional “Zenit” sport complex is set to be completed in Noyabrsk (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region), and in Muravlenko a residential complex, comprising of 120 apartments, is to be commissioned. Autumn 2012 will see the completion of Khanty-Mansiysk’s largest preschool education centre, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. In addition, Gazprom Neft will be supporting, as usual, the Khanty-Mansiysk International Film Festival, “The Spirit of Fire”. In the Omsk region, Gazprom Neft has traditionally provided support to Avangard Hockey Club. This year, the Company has allocated additional funding so that the club can purchase an HD television broadcasting complex, which will broadcast live matches from the Omsk Arena with the highest possible picture quality. The Company’s support will also go towards an annual tournament, named the Gazprom Neft Cup, for the children teams of Continental Hockey League clubs. This year’s tournament increased the number of participating clubs to 16 and gained international status. The Tyumen and Tomsk regions will also see the construction and modernisation of major parts of their social infrastructure in 2012. As well as this, in February of this year Gazprom Neft signed a quadripartite agreement to cooperate in the development of Tom Football Club. The Company will play an active role in the management of the club.
“Gazprom Neft’s regional policy is based on principles of social responsibility to the regions where the Company operates. We are convinced that social investment is essential for improving business performance, as it creates a stable base for oil production and refining in the Khanty-Mansiysk, Yamalo-Nenets and Omsk regions. The implementation of these new projects of construction and modernisation of the regions’ infrastructure will strengthen the Company’s long-term partnership with these regions”, stated Gazprom Neft Board of Directors member Alexander Dybal.
