OREANDA-NEWS. March 07, 2012. The minimum wage growth in Ukraine – one of the highest in Europe, for two previous year’s minimum wage in Ukraine has increased by one third. Since the beginning of 2010 till the beginning of 2012 the amount actually payable of the minimum wage has grown by 35 percent. Ukraine has outstripped on this indicator such countries as Poland, Estonia, France, Romania, and Turkey.

And this despite the fact that some European countries at all have frozen minimum wage at the level of 2009. Thus, according to the Eurostat, in Bulgaria the minimum wage has not been changed since 2009 till 2011, in the Czech Republic - frozen at the level of 2007, in Lithuania and Croatia - at the level of 2008.

Of course, such approaches due to the economic situation in the world and concerns all countries without exception. However, even within such difficult conditions, the Government of Ukraine takes the maximum possible measures to increase social protection to the least secured citizens.

Also, the Government makes it not by means of one-time additional payments, grants, etc., but is systematically raising the level of minimum wage, of which are being calculated other indicators of wages, same allowances or bonuses.

In other words, the Government sets the following rules in the labour market, which would be mandatory for all as well as do not dependent on "good will" of some "kind bureaucrats" as it had been happened before at a former management of our country before the another "expression of will."

Thus, such increases really are guarantees, not handouts to citizens.

At the same time, the Government understands that wage increase, although rather substantial, is lower than the social standards of the European Union. And to reach this level it is definitely needed.

However, it is not at the expense of next credits for spending all money on food as it were practiced by predecessors, but by filling up the budget by means of economic development, restoration of the valuable work of production. And for this purpose it being done the maximum everything possible.
