OREANDA-NEWS. March 06, 2012. Economically active population of Moldova (employed and unemployed one) accounted for 1 mln. 216,4 thou. people in Q4, 2011. This is 63,1 thou. (5,5%) more than in the same period of 2010.

The share of economically active men was 50,5%, with the share of women being 49,5%, the National Bureau of Statistics informs. The share of urban economically active population is slightly different from that of rural one. They were 50,7% and 49,3% respectively.

A number of economically active population amounted to 1 mln. 141,1 thou. people, which is 6,9% more than in Q4, 2010. About 853,6 thou. people were employed in the agrarian sector. About 13,1% of the population were employed in the industrial sector, with 5,8% people working in the field of construction. 55,8% of the total number employees worked in the services sector. 65,5% of the population worked at private-owned enterprises, 28,4% were employed at public-owned ones, with 6,1% workers being occupied at enterprises of mixed form of proprietorship and foreign capital companies.

11,9% of employees worked for the non-formal sector, 30,6% had one non-formal place of work. A number of the jobless accounted for 75,3 thou. people, 10,7 thou. down as compared with Q4, 2010. Jobless men and rural dwellers made up 55,4% and 64,1% of the amount of jobless respectively.
