OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2012. DTEK, Lugansk Regional State Administration and Lugansk Regional Council have signed an Agreement on Cooperation for Social and Economic Development of Lugansk Region providing for DTEK to invest UAH 15 million in the region growth in 2012.  As it is a framework agreement, amounts of further annual investments will be determined additionally.
 
The document was signed by Maxim Timchenko, CEO of DTEK, Vladimir Pristyuk, Head of Lugansk Regional State Administration, and Yevgeniy Kharin, First Deputy Head of Lugansk Regional Council.
 
The investments will be used for energy efficiency projects in the public utility sector, healthcare, infrastructure, education, culture, sports and business development.
 
DTEK will also continue implementing environmental programmes at its enterprises. In 2012, the cost of environmental programmes in the towns of Schastye, Sverdlovsk and Rovenki will amount to more than UAH 50 million.
 
In 2012, more than UAH 75 million will be allocated to maintain social facilities of Rovenkianthracite and Sverdlovanthracite which were granted to DTEK on concession following the tenders in December 2011.
 
By developing social partnership at the regional level, DTEK commits to ensuring stable and trouble-free operation of its production facilities in Lugansk Region, paying all due taxes and fees to the state and local budgets on time, upgrading and developing production, improving social sphere and taking effective environmental measures.
 
Regional administration and council on their part are ready to facilitate effective use of the company’s investments. The parties have agreed to jointly inform the public on the projects and programmes of regional development, in which DTEK will take part.

We want people in Schastye, Sverdlovsk, Rovenki and in the entire Lugansk Region to have comfortable living conditions, good roads, clean streets, warm houses, pure water and proper healthcare.

DTEK uses a comprehensive approach to social investment and is ready to support projects that will improve welfare of the regions, attract more donors and investors and develop business environment,’ said Maksim Timchenko, CEO of DTEK.
