Saratov Airlines Paid Fine for Abusing Dominant Prostitution
OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2012. “Saratov Airlines” OJSC paid nearly 1.8 million Rubles as a fine for abusing market dominance.
In 2010 “Saratov Airlines” OJSC fixed special rates for the economy class on the Saratov – Moscow – Saratov: one-way fares - 2000, 2800 and 3500 Rubles; return fares - 3500 and 4500 Rubles, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The Commission of Saratov OFAS Russia found that the air carrier violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. Under the procedures specified in the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations, the antimonopoly body issued an order to impose a fine (1.8 million Rubles).
The company filed a lawsuit challenging the decision of Saratov OFAS Russia.
The Courts of two instances pronounced legitimacy of the conclusions made by Saratov OFAS Russia.
Also Kirov District Court in Saratov pronounced legitimacy and reasonableness of the fine imposed upon the General Director of the company.

Clause 6 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” prohibits economic entities with dominant position on a particular market to fix different prices (rates) for the same goods without economic, technological and other justification, unless otherwise provided for by the federal law.
