OREANDA-NEWS. March 02, 2012. Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in February 2012 were 92,119 vehicles, higher by 19 per cent over February 2011. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for February 2012 were 86,704 vehicles, higher by 19 per cent over 73,039 nos., sold in February last year.

Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 806,354 vehicles, a growth of 12 per cent over 719,976 vehicles, sold last year.

Commercial vehicles

The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in February 2012 in the domestic market were 51,872 vehicles, a 26 per cent growth, compared to 41,130 vehicles, sold in February last year. LCV sales were 32,540 vehicles, a growth of 38 per cent, compared to 23,498 vehicles sold in February, last year. M&HCV sales stood at 19,332 vehicles, a growth of 10 per cent, compared to 17,632 vehicles sold in February, last year.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 471,917 vehicles, a growth of 19 per cent over last year. Cumulative LCV sales are 286,880 vehicles, a growth of 26 per cent over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 185,037 vehicles, a growth of 10 per cent over last year.

Passenger vehicles

The passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 36,536 vehicles (34,832 Tata + 1,704 Fiat) in the domestic market in February 2012, higher by 8 per cent, compared to 33,751 vehicles (31,909 Tata + 1,842 Fiat) in February last year. Sales of Tata passenger vehicles for February 2012 are at 34,832 vehicles, a growth of 9 per cent over 31,909 vehicles, sold in February last year. Sales of the Tata Nano were 9,217 vehicles, higher by 12 per cent, compared to 8,262 vehicles, sold in February, last year. The Indica range sales were 10,424 vehicles, higher by 4 per cent, over 10,044 vehicles, sold in February, last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 8,595 vehicles, lower by 4 per cent, over 8,966 vehicles, sold in February, last year. The Sumo / Safari / Aria / Venture range accounted for sales of 6,596 vehicles, a growth of 42 per cent, over 4,637 vehicles, sold in February, last year.

Jaguar Land Rover sales in India continued their upward trend.

Cumulative sales and distribution offtake of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 291,406 vehicles (276,726 Tata + 14,680 Fiat), against 290,037 vehicles (270,836 Tata + 19,201 Fiat) last year. Cumulative sales of Tata passenger vehicles were 276,726 vehicles, compared to 270,836 vehicles, till February last year. Cumulative sales of the Nano are 64,052 vehicles, higher by 4 per cent, compared to 61,725 vehicles, till February last year. Cumulative sales of the Indica range are 94,286 vehicles, higher by 4 per cent, compared to 90,914 vehicles, till February last year. Cumulative sales of the Indigo family are 69,438 vehicles, lower by 14 per cent, compared to 80,722 vehicles, till February last year. Cumulative sales of the Sumo / Safari / Aria / Venture range are 48,950 vehicles, higher by 31 per cent, compared to 37,475 vehicles, till February last year.

Exports

The company's sales from exports at 5,415 vehicles in February 2012 are higher by 20 per cent compared to 4,504 vehicles in February last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 57,711 vehicles are higher by 11 per cent over 52,112 vehicles, in the same period last year.
