OREANDA-NEWS. March 01, 2012. Last week the best charitable organizations, sponsors and patrons of 2011 were awarded in Kemerovo city Government. Kemerovo JSC "Azot" (which is a part of the Joint Stock Holding Company "Siberian Business Union") was rewarded with the winner's certificate in the nomination "the benefactor of the year" for the fifth time in a row.

This annual competition has been already held in Kemerovo for 9 times. Big companies, medium and small businesses participate in the competition. In 2011 400 ml roubles were donated. That was the biggest sum that has ever been gathered. Almost 1 000 businesses and enterprises of the city became involved in the charity work.

As usual Kemerovo JSC "Azot" made relevant contribution to tackling many social issues that are crucial for the citizens. The company initiated the completion of yet another stage of Boarding-school 22 renovation. Children with speech abnormalities study there. 30 door and window units were replaced, the game rooms and bedrooms were overhauled, a safer canopy was constructed, and new suits were bought for the members of the school creative group. Orphans had a chance to have rest and improve their health in the company's recreation facility "Beryozovo".

Moreover, the plant helped to prepare comprehensive schools for a new school year. It also helped to buy the first grade pupils' sets for children from large and low income families. The company financed the building of the sports-ground for children in Geologorazvedka district, the erection of the St. Peter and Fevronia chapel and etc. It is now the only chapel located in the remote district of Kemerovo beyond the city railway station.

The charity program of 2011 was distinctive, for the workers of "Azot" were donating to the fund "Child's heart". The plant's personnel collected 1 million roubles. The expensive cardiac surgeries were held, and the lives of 7 Kuzbass children were rescued.
