OREANDA-NEWS. March 01, 2012. The first dual-system electric train manufacturing Skoda Vagonka (Czech Republic) will be in Ukraine in March of this year - it became known from the First Deputy Director General of the Ukrzaliznytsia (State Administration of Railway Transport), Mykola Serhiyenko.

"It is planned that on March 12, the Commission of Ukrzaliznytsia will receive electric trains. According to the agreement between the Southern Railway and Skoda Company provides purchase of two electric double dual-system electric trains, in 6 cars each. The second train will arrive in Ukraine in April this year," said Mykola Serhiyenko.

The Railway officials expect that the new rolling stock will be involved on the route Kharkiv - Kyiv - Donetsk and will be serviced on the Southern Railway in the depot of Kharkov, which is specially equipped for a new passenger rolling stock.

The Czech trains will pick up speed to 160 km/h, consisting of six cars, each of which contains 126 seats, in the total number of seats - 626, the body is made of special aluminium.

There are provided places of first and second grades. In particular, the second floors of the two cars will be first class, the rest - the second. In addition, electric trains equipped with seats to transport of persons with disabilities - in each train in 4 lifts for wheelchairs, it is specially equipped sanitary units.

Similar trains have long been successfully operating in the Czech Republic and Lithuania.
