OREANDA-NEWS. March 01, 2012. The Russian federal sanitary service Rospotrebnadzor has recorded no deviations from the parameters of quality and safety in the Moldovan alcoholic beverages, according to a press release by Rospotrebnadzor.

The sanitary authority said that no case of ban on the import of Moldovan alcoholic drinks had been registered since early 2012.

Rospotrebnadzor noted that the exporters complied with the quality exigencies, adding that each consignment of wine is checked thoroughly. It noted that in 2012, 513 consignments of wine, 84 of wine in bulk and 34 of brandy were subjected to laboratory expertise.

Agriculture Minister Vasile Bumacov has earlier said the Moldovan authorities are set to negotiate with Russia the export of wines on the Russian market. Yet, he stressed, one cannot speak about certain progress now that the Russian authorities are involved in the electoral campaign.

In the first two months of 2012, Moldova exported over 4.8 million litres of alcoholic beverages to the Russian market. In 2011, the exports of Moldovan wines amounted to 178 million dollars, according to preliminary data.
