OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2012. IZ-Kartex part of OMZ Group, has signed a contract with OJSC Stoilensky mining plant for the manufacture of four excavators with various bucket capacity. In accordance with the contract the company will deliver one EKG-10 excavator, two EKG-8US excavators and one EKG-5U.

Production of EKG-10 was launched in 1984. Today electromechanical excavator EKG-10 is the main vehicle for mining enterprises in Russia and CIS countries. This year IZ-Kartex delivered its 500th EKG-10 to Olympiadskiy mining plant.

EKG-8US and EKG -5U are modifications of the basic model - EKG-10. They are characterized by extended working equipment, which allows holding stripping works and extraction of ore in non-standard conditions of Stoilenskiy Stoilensky mining plant. Delivery of excavators will take place in 2012.

Stoilensky mining plant is one of the leading producers of iron ore for steel industry: it accounts for 12% of salable ore in Russia. Izhorskiye zavody cooperate with Stoilensky plant for almost half a century: the first excavator was delivered in 1968. At present Izhora excavators compose the main part of the fleet of excavators for rock stripping and extraction of ore.
