OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2012. The volume of card transactions of the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) in 2011 totaled 2.5 billion manat, according to a press release of the bank, reported the press-centre of IBA.  

During 2002-2011, the volume of bank card transactions increased by 35.2 times.

According to the bank, at the beginning of this year, the number of active plastic cards issued by the bank reached 1 million 865.712 thousand. In 2011, cardholders of the bank were 103.683 thousand.

In general, the share of the IBA in the card market of the country exceeds 40%.

In 2011, the IBA has established 25 ATMs in towns and 983 pos-terminals in the retail outlets and service stations in the country. Thus, the number of ATMs reached 630 (34% of the total number of ATMs in the country), pos-terminals - 3915 units (41% of the total number of pos-terminals of the country).

IBA was founded in 1992 and is the biggest bank in Azerbaijan. Currently, 50.2% of the share capital of the bank owned by the state, 49.8% - private shareholders. In general, the shareholders of the IBA are 14 legal entities and 1556 individuals.

As per results of 2010, IBA took the 30th place among the CIS banks by assets in the ranking "Interfax-1000: Banks of the CIS".
