OREANDA-NEWS. February 27, 2012. Within the programme on modernization of handling equipment of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” 14 fork-lift trucks Hyster with the lifting capacity from 2 up to 8 tons were delivered to the first and second cargo areas of the port from England and Holland.

New fork-lift trucks will allow the company to increase the efficiency of cargo handling, to decrease expenses for maintenance and repair of handling equipment.  It is expected that these fork-lift trucks will start to operate immediately after all the necessary procedures, including issuing of documents and technical maintenance. 

Starting from 2012 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred over 12 mln. rubles for modernization of handling equipment.

In 2011 the turnover of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” amounted to 7.4 mln. tons of cargoes.

In January of 2012 2 mobile rubber-tyred cranes Liebherr LHM 600 suitable for handling of cargoes with weight up to 140 tons were reloaded to the berths of the company.
