In line with its on-going efforts towards initiating community development programmes, Tata Power’s Haldia team organised the eye check-up camp for villagers at Haldia, especially for senior citizens. The camp was organised in collaboration with the Vivekananda Mission Ashram Netra Niramay Niketan, based in Haldia.
Around 110 patients suffering from eye problems were treated and free spectacles provided to senior citizens. The Haldia power plant employees as well as contractors and workmen volunteered to make the free eye check-up camp a major success.
Speaking on this initiative, Vijayant Ranjan, station manager, Haldia power plant, said, “The main objective of this initiative was to extend care and support to improve the health of surrounding communities. We at Tata Power take pride in organising such initiatives that benefit communities and improve their quality of life.”
