160 Electric Car Charging Stations Will Appear in Estonia
OREANDA-NEWS. February 22, 2012. Kredex, the government's credit agency, today announced the planned location of express charging centers for electric cars in its bid to encourage nationwide use of zero-emission transport.
One hundred of the stations will be built in urban areas with more than 5,000 residents. Another 60 will be set up by major highways, with an estimated 40 to 60 kilometers between charging points. Tallinn will have 27 stations and Tartu 10.
Municipalities will also receive another 507 slower-paced charging stations.
"The network will give confidence to owners of electric cars to drive longer distances and allow for fast charging service throughout Estonia,” said Mirja Adler, a Kredex representative.
