SORAINEN Represented G4S in Criminal Proceedings Investigating
OREANDA-NEWS. February 22, 2012. SORAINEN Estonia represented G4S, the leading global international security solutions group, in criminal proceedings investigating an alleged price agreement between security service providers in Estonia in the Tartu service area. The investigation failed to reveal any breach of competition law by G4S or its employees, reported the press-centre of SORAINEN.
The Prosecutor's Office initiated criminal proceedings in March 2010 on the basis of an application filed by Pristis and Skorpion Julgestusteenistus to investigate potential cartel agreements between the security firms Skorpion, ESS Louna and Securitas since 1998. In the course of the preliminary investigation the Estonian Competition Authority carried out a highly publicised dawn raid on the headquarters of G4S Estonia in August 2010.
Andrus Ossip, chairman of the board of G4S Estonia, was glad that the decision of the investigative bodies would finally put an end to unfounded speculation. "I am happy that we can go on with our heads held high and our name cleared," said Mr Ossip. "Being a member of an international security group, we are guided by both the laws of our country of operation as well as the group's internal code of business ethics. We have always pursued honesty in our business and will continue to do so in the future," he added.
SORAINEN Estonia represented the client in the dawn raid and criminal proceedings which established no breach on the part of our client. Partner Kaupo Lepasepp led the team advising the client.
