Krasnodar Arbitration Court: Oil Companies Are Lawfully Fined
OREANDA-NEWS. February 21, 2012. Krasnodar Regional Arbitration Court pronounced legitimacy and reasonableness of a decision and determination of Krasnodar OFAS Russia regarding “Lukoil-Yugnefteproduct” Ltd. and “Rosneft-Kubannefteproduct’ OJSC, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
Earlier Krasnodar OFAS Russia found “Lukoil-Yugnefteproduct” Ltd. and “Rosneft-Kubannefteproduct’ OJSC violated Clause 1 Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. The companies exercised concerted actions towards fixing and supporting retail prices for gasoline grades А-(80)76, Аi-92, Аi-95 and diesel fuel in Sochi in 2010 by increasing the prices for the same level (+1.50 Rubles), exceeding the level of prices fixed by these companies in other municipalities in the region, in the absence of objective reasons for such increase.
For violating the antimonopoly law Lukoil-Yugnefteproduct” Ltd. is fined 18.3 million Rubles and “Rosneft-Kubannefteproduct’ OJSC – 8.1 million Rubles.
“The decision and determination of the antimonopoly body are made in order to support competitive environment on the market of oil products in Sochi resort, which is preparing to XXII Winter Olympic Games and XI Paralympic Games 2014. Krasnodar OFAS pays special attention to the cases related to suppressing concerted actions of economic entities on retail market of oil products because prices for gasoline and diesel fuel affect the costs of goods and services in all sectors of the economy”, commented the Head of Krasnodar OFAS Russia, Roufina Degtyaryova.
