OREANDA-NEWS. February 20, 2012. This year the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine will pay special attention to the restoration of networks of irrigation of land. The state has already allocated funds for reduction in price of electricity for artificial humidifying lands. In the near future the Ministry will develop and implement a global program to improve agrochemical properties of soils and restoration of their fecundity.

"Today the Ministry of Agrarian Policy initiates changes to the law "On land melioration", which will provide an opportunity to begin work of irrigation system that can use the all shareholders. Then, we will develop and implement a more global program," the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk informed.

The head of Ministry also noted that due to fast and unprofessional sharing of land, irrigation does not occur in large areas.

"Through this transfers of shares today there occurred certain difficulties – shareholders owned land, inter municipal network owned by the state and irrigation network in the shares owned by local councils. And it happened that a number of broken off," said the Minister.

Today, 2.5 million hectares to be artificial humidification are not irrigated.
