OREANDA-NEWS. February 17, 2012. MMC Norilsk Nickel (Company) starts working out “Ideology of integrated gas system development of Norilsk industrial zone aiming at 2030”. The technical assignment has been already made up, and the Company is looking for a contractor to prepare the document, reported the press-centre of Norilsk Nickel.

The ideology is going to be an integrated program of steps to guarantee secure gas supply for all the customers of Norilsk Industrial Zone, as well as comprise the list and the time schedule for bringing to life clusters of investment projects that would develop the gas system for the further 18 years.

The Strategy of technical-scientific development of MMC Norilsk Nickel until 2025 also envisages a large scale outburst of gas extracting units. Namely, within the terms of the Strategy, the Company is going to invest about USD 4 bln into the gas program.

The money will be canalized to: construction of gas extracting wells at gas reserve Pelyatkinskoye in line with the technological schedule of the reserve exploration; termination, in 2012, of experimental stage of the reserve exploration and eventual industrial startup of the gas reserve Pelyatkinskoye; completion of gas line and condensed gas line Gas reserve Pelyatkinskoye – Dudinka; construction of gas line Dudinka-Norilsk; construction of the second line of gas duct “Gas reserve Pelyatkinskoye-Norilsk” with a parallel shutdown of some sectors of the gas transportation system Norilskgazprom LLC.

Main part of investments to be made until 2025 is to be carried on in the nearest future.

The target of MMC Norilsk Nickel gas projects development is to guarantee uninterrupted gas supply to Norilsk Industrial Zone taking into account the decreasing output of Norilskgazprom LLC reserves – Yujno-Soleninskoye, Severo-Soleninskoye and Messoyakhskoye. That is the reason why the Company goes on with Pelyatkisnkoye project.

The startup, in 2013, of the gas reserve Pelyatkinskoye will increase the output up to 15 million cubic meters of gas a day, and up to 220 thousand tons of condensed gas a year. In 2011, the reserve gave 1,6865 billion cubic meters of gas and 84,249 thousand tons of condensed gas.
