OREANDA-NEWS.  February 16, 2012. The two millionth truck will roll off the conveyor of KAMAZ – Russia’s leading automobile manufacturer. 36 years ago, the plant produced KAMAZ-5320 numbered 0000001. Its technical characteristics underwent great changes during all these years.

Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of Russia, will congratulate KAMAZ employees on such a significant event within the limits of his business trip to the city of Naberezhnye Chelny.

The anniversary KAMAZ-6522 truck is equipped with a reliable and low-consumption 400 hp Common Rail engine, a 16-speed gearbox made by ZF with the optimum gear ratio, with double-tire wheels. According to the results of 2011, KAMAZ took a share of almost 40% on the Russian market of heavy trucks over 16 t GVW.

KAMAZ-6522 is a six-by-six vehicle, a “fellow” of the well-known six-by-four dump truck KAMAZ-6520, the basis of the line-up of higher payload trucks which is the backbone of the whole model range of KAMAZ vehicles. OJSC KAMAZ is the absolute leader on the heavy-duty truck markets of Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and other countries. Each second 14-40 t GVW vehicle produced and used in the CIS countries is KAMAZ.

It should be recalled that the first trucks of the automobile plant came off the assembly conveyor on February 16, 1976. After several years of operation in one of the fleets of Bashkortostan, the vehicle of the first model KAMAZ-5320 numbered 0000001 was bought back by its manufacturers. And now it is kept as a functional museum piece at the Scientific and Technical Center of KAMAZ, and it is operated only on the days of its anniversary or on other special occasions.
