OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2012. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has paid 9.9 mln rubles in connection with a fire in Megatitan Shopping Mall (Ulan-Ude, the Buryat Republic).

Megatitan Shopping Mall was insured by Ingosstrakh Insurance Company against such risks as fire, lightning stroke, gas explosion, damage by water, running-down accident, falling of piloted flying objects, natural disasters, improper activity of the third parties. The entire property complex, including external and internal finishing, engineering services, electrical supply systems, glazing, ground area was insured under the contract.

On June 12, 2011, there was a burning of a roof of the Megatitan complex three-stored building, where the fitness club and restaurant are located. The fire was classified as degree three of complexity.  16 units of fire equipment and 44 personnel of fire garrison were involved in its liquidation. 350 visitors and 80 shopping mall staff members were evacuated in time.

As a result of the fire, the building roof on the area of 1,225 sq. meters burnt down; the fire damaged internal furnish of the gym on the area of 70 sq. meters. An expertise was carried out in order to appraise the extent of the damage; according to its results, the case was recognized as an insured case, and Ingosstrakh Insurance Company paid insurance compensation in full in accordance with the Contract provisions in January of this year.
