Aviall Services and Helicopter Service Company Signed Agreement
OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2012. Aviall Services, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, and Helicopter Service Company, JSC (HSC) of Moscow, Russia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Russian Helicopters, JSC (Russian Helicopters, JSC is a subsidiary of UIC Oboronprom), have signed an agreement to support helicopters powered by Rolls-Royce M250 engines.
According to the agreement, HSC will purchase material for Rolls-Royce M250 engines and other helicopter-related parts directly from Aviall. HSC operates the first and only M250 authorized support center in Russia.
“Aviall is proud to expand its support for the Rolls-Royce M250 engine,” said Terry Scott, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Aviall. “This agreement enables HSC to purchase material directly from Aviall for this line of engines. Aviall is also pleased to assist HSC in its mission as to help customers maintain their helicopter fleets.”
Helicopter Service Company was founded in 2006 to establish a modern system of integrated logistics support for Russian helicopter manufacturers and operators. HSC now supplies parts and technical materials for customers in approximately 25 countries, including the U.S.
“By signing this agreement with Aviall, HSC will provide light-class Ka-226 customers with Rolls-Royce M250 materials support,” said Arthur Shtankov, Helicopter Service Company COO. “It is crucial for HSC to develop this relationship with Aviall, opening new possibilities for Russian helicopter fleet operators.”
From its headquarters in Dallas and 40 global customer service centers, Aviall provides aftermarket supply chain management services for the aerospace and defense industries. Aviall markets and distributes products for more than 240 manufacturers and lists over two million catalog items.
The Rolls-Royce M250 engine is the leading powerplant in its class worldwide. This fleet has accrued more than 210 million flight hours on more than 30,000 engines, including over 100 M250-powered helicopters currently in Russia - mostly biturbine coaxial light multipurpose Ka-226. The M250 market is supported by a global authorized repair and overhaul network.
