OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2012. On December 13, 2011 between JSC Zarubezhneft and Assam Asset of ONGC Ltd. (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, India) two contracts for chemicals & materials supply and for providing EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery Methods) services at Lakwa field in Assam State (Nazira) were signed.

The contract in the area of Enhanced Oil Recovery Methods provides for carrying out of works by Zarubezhneft specialists on enhancement of oil recovery from non-operating and low-flowing wells onshore which are being developed by ONGC.

The last contracts in India were implemented by Zarubezhneft in 2004, following which the activity in this country was suspended and reduced to holding negotiations and consideration by the parties of the possibility to continue the cooperation in oil and gas sphere.
