OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2012. On 28 December 2011, E4 Group concluded an EPC-contract for the Reconstruction of Boiler House no.3 (RK-3) including the construction of a Combined Cycle Power Plant at Zhodinskaya TPP in the town of Borisov. E4 Group won the tender in December 2, 2011. The Customer of the project is Republican Unitary Enterprise Minskenergo.

The reconstruction of the Boiler House will include the replacement of worn-out and obsolete equipment to a new state-of-the-art 65 MW combined cycle plant with electrical efficiency of 49.5%. The project is carried out within the frames of a state energy efficiency and energy saving program of the Republic of Belarus.

Pursuant to the Contract, E4 Group will perform comprehensive construction works at the facility, including equipment delivery, testing, design engineering, erection, pre-commissioning, completion and commissioning works. The completion of works is scheduled for December 2013.

It is worth to mention that the project is implemented to fulfill the decision of Technical Committee of State Production Association Belenergo dated 27.09.2007. The decision was made in accordance with the Feasibility study of Boiler House no.3 reconstruction at Zhodinskaya TPP in the town of Borisov (RK-3), including the construction of a combined cycle plant, Heat supply network of the town of Borisov until the year 2015, and on the basis of State Comprehensive Program for the modernization of basic production assets of the Belarus Power Grid and Energy Saving.

For prompt solution of project-related issues, the management of JSC E4 Group decided to establish its representative office of in the city of Minsk. The said representative office will be in charge of cooperation with Republican Unitary Enterprise Minskenergo, and of supervision over the construction works progress. According to Vladimir Kalinin, Director General of JSC E4 Group, in view of high potential of engineering services market in the CIS countries and other former Soviet republics, E4 Group plans to further expand the ambit of its customers and future partners, as well as to develop international business contacts and cooperation with power engineering companies of the Republic of Belarus .      

Zhodinskaya TPP is a branch office of Minsk Republican Unitary Power Engineering Enterprise Minskenergo. TPP supplies electric power to the Unified Energy System of the Republic of Belarus, and heating power and district water to industrial consumers, social-, cultural- and household-purpose facilities, and to consumers of housing and utilities sector.
