OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2012. Ukraine will introduce its own production of agricultural equipment, fertilizers and herbicides to increase production of annual crops to 80-100 million tons.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this during a meeting of Ukrainian-Latvian business roundtable in Riga.

"A country that produces so much corn, sugar, sunflower simply must produce its machinery should stop to hold jobs in the agricultural abroad. We will resume production of the full range of vehicles: from planters and cultivators for tractors and combines"- Mykola Azarov said. He stressed that Ukraine imports more than 90% of herbicides.
