OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2012. Joint Stock Company the State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine and Gaixa Geral de Depositos, SA, Portugal, signed a Framework Agreement aimed at promoting commercial and financial cooperation between Portugal and Ukraine and in-depth analysis of potential of markets of both countries, reported the press-centre of Ukreximbank.

The Agreement signifies one more step in proactive development of Ukrainian-Portuguese economic relations. In March 2011, during a working visit of the Ukrainian business delegation to Portugal, the management of JSC Ukreximbank took part in a presentation of Ukraine’s economic potential at a bilateral business forum that helped to identify the most promising fields of cooperation between the two countries.

“The signed Agreement stipulates cooperation under transactions that will promote international trade between Portugal and Ukraine”, said Board Member Viktoria Ruda. “Such cooperation will especially be focused on the documentary business projects, middle- and long-term finance, direct investments, joint financing by Ukreximbank and Gaixa Geral de Depositos of joint ventures established by Portuguese and Ukrainian companies. The document also envisages extension of cooperation in the field of money market and forex transactions in the interbank market”.
