Rosmorport’s Icebreakers Busy Escorting Ships in Azov Sea
OREANDA-NEWS. February 13, 2012. Icebreakers of Rosmorport continue operations releasing merchant ships stuck in the ice-bound Sea of Azov, the Azov Ice Operations HQ said.
Ice-breakers "Kapitan Demidov" and "Kapitan Chudinov are now cutting through the 40cm ice to assist the M/V Volga-Balt 226 and the M/V Sormovsky- 49.
The Kapitan Krutov and the Kapitan Moshkin have escorted the M/V Vega II to open water and are now heading towards the Pyalma and the Oryel-1 (Eagle 1) to escort them to the anchorage of the port of Kavkaz. Then the first icebreaker will escort a convoy of ships from Temryuk and Kavkaz to the the Black Sea.
Then the icebreakers Kapitan Demidov, Kapitan Chudinov and Kapitan Moshkin will escort a convoy of merchant ships from the ports of Rostov-on-Don, Azov, Taganrog and Yeysk.
