Russia and USA Discussed Antimonopoly and Anti-Corruption Policy
OREANDA-NEWS. February 13, 2012. During a visit of a delegation of Russian government agencies to Washington, FAS representatives had meetings with representatives of US government authorities, bar and business community, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The parties held broad discussions about mutual influence and complementarily of the provisions of the US anti-corruption Act “Foreign Corrupt Practices Act” (FCPA Act) and the Federal Law of the Russian Federation “On Protection of Competition”, as well as the mechanisms for protecting competition on the market of medicines in the USA and the Russian Federation.
The parties also discussed possibility of joint investigations aimed at suppressing cartels on Russian and American markets.
At the meetings FAS representatives discussed the form and the procedures of interaction in course of joint investigations with US executive bodies responsible of compliance with the antimonopoly law (the US Ministry of Justice).
At a meeting with American business and bar community FAS particularized its position aimed at preventing corruptive conduct by pharmaceutical companies in course of concluding vertical agreements.
