Turnover of Ukio Bankas Payments Cards Increased Fourfold in 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. February 13, 2012. Amounts of transactions executed with Ukio bankas clients payment cards is increasing. Last year the bank’s payment cards turnover reached LTL 546 million - comparing to 2010 it increased almost 26 per cent. Ukio bankas debit card turnover in 2011 comparing to the last year, increased even 38.3 per cent, credit cards – 3.1 per cent, reported the press-centre of Ukio Bankas.
Ukio bankas debit cards turnover in 2011 reached LTL 386 million. Credit card holders in 2011 executed transactions with total turnover of LTL 160 million.
„Last year comparing to 2010 was more successful to the country’s economy. It also caused internal consumption recovery therefore a number of settlements with the bank’s payments cards increased. It should be noted that habits of people change as well – they value qualitative service of the bank, convenience of payment cards, funds safety”, - said Jurate Kajackiene, Director of Ukio bankas Payment Cards Department.
Part of purchasing transactions in total turnover of Ukio bankas payment cards in 2011 reached LTL 193 million. In 2011 settlements with debit cards amounted to LTL 73 million – almost 44 per cent more than in 2010. In 2011 settlements for various purchases and services with credit cards with borrowing possibility amounted to LTL 120 million – 6.8 per cent more than in 2010.
Within 2011 in comparison to 2010, settlements amounts in e-shops with virtual, debit and credit cards grew from LTL 11 to LTL 15 million i.e. – 30 per cent.
According to J. Kajackiene, Ukio bankas regularly creates services and solutions ensuring clients’ funds safety and convenience. One of the latest solutions offered to Ukio bankas clients is family payment cards linked to one account.
„The service that was started at the end of November is relevant and useful to all who plan their family finance. From now on the bank’s clients may link supplementary payment cards with regulated expense limits to one family account. It is especially relevant service to parents, raising children since the card may be issued to a child from 7 years old. Family’s expenses may be viewed and monitored in the statement submitted to the main card holder where the expenses of each card holder are separately grouped. Supplementary card holders may also see exact list of their transactions at Eta bankas online, “ – said J. Kajackiene.
Ukio bankas is the first commercial bank in Lithuania for the third decade providing reliable service in its own wide client service network of 60 units in all the country. Payment cards of Ukio bankas are serviced in 270 joint network ATMs and 28 Lietuvos pastas units.
