The sports complex was unveiled by NCOC's External Relations Director Pierre Delpont who said in his opening remarks: Please let me congratulate local people on today's Ceremony. Sports are an important part of our lives. I do hope you will put this sports centre to good use. And I would like to confirm that the Consortium is deeply committed to conducting business in a socially responsible manner and today's handover of the sports complex is a sign of that.

This is the latest in a series of SIPs handed over to residents of Mangistau Region. In recognition of the Consortium's achievements in the social sphere in Atyrau and Mangistau Regions, it received an award in an annual nationwide contest Paryz for the best social project of 2011. The award was handed over to the Consortium at a ceremony on 9th December which was opened by President N. Nazarbayev.
