Pursuant to the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation, the significant contribution of the NPO Saturn employees to the development, certification and commencement of serial production of the SaM146 engine, having statewide significance, has been awarded with the Russian Federation government awards.

By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 21.11.2011 a medal of the order “For the State-recognized merits of II degree has been awarded to Andrey Vladimirovich Voronov – turner of the 6tt rank and Vitaliy Yuryevich Romanov – automated lines and modular-type machines fitter of the 6th rank.

By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 29.12.2011 for the significant contribution to the development of the defense-industrial complex of the Russian Federation and many years of honorable work, a medal of the order “For the State-recognized merits of II degree has been awarded to Igor Dmitrievich Yudin – presently chief executive officer of Saturn Gas Turbines OJSC and Albert Rudolfovich Krivonogov – deputy head of compressors design bureau. For the merits in the field of design and many years of honorable work, an honorary title of “The honored designer of the Russian Federation has been awarded to Georgiy Mikhailovich Konyukhov – deputy general designer – chief SaM146 project designer.

By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 29.12.2011 for the significant contribution to the development of the rocket-space industry and many years of honorable work, a medal of the order “For the State-recognized merits of I degree has been awarded to Anatoliy Ivanovich Lysenko – deputy head of Research and development design bureau-1, in charge of planning and management; a medal of the order “For the State-recognized merits of II degree has been awarded to Natalya Sergeevna Golovkina – head of engineering department and Aleksey Nokolaevich Perov – engine and component assembly operator of the 6th rank. For the merits in the field of machine building and many years of honorable work, an honorary title of “The honored designer of the Russian Federation has been awarded to Aleksander Vladimirovich Tarasov – measuring instruments and automatics fitter of the 6th rank; the order of Friendship has been awarded to Evgeniy Stepanovich Karpovich – engine test mechanic of the 6th degree.

The SaM146 program – is an equal-share collaboration program between the Russian NPO Saturn and the French Snecma focused on the development, manufacturing and market promotion of the SaM146 propulsion system installed on the new-generation regional and long-haul aircraft. In April 2003 the SaM146 engine was pronounced winner of the tender administered by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company CJSC to supply a propulsion system for the SSJ100 aircraft family. This is a prioritized project fully supported by the governments of Russia and France.

A type certificate for the SaM146 engine was granted by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on June, 23rd 2010. On August, 13th 2010 a type certificate for the SaM146 engine was granted by IAC AR. From the moment of entering revenue service in April 2011, the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft powered by the SaM146 engines has demonstrated its specified in-service performance. As of February, 1st 2012 the SaM146 engines installed on the SSJ100 aircraft carrying passengers have logged 6650 hours. The SaM146 engine has a flight dispatch ratio exceeding 99 %. On January, 17th 2012 the 1S18 modification of the SaM146 engine – having a 5% thrust increase – had completed its EASA type certification.
