Sea Port of St. Petersburg Transferred RUB 319 mln on Infrastructure
OREANDA-NEWS. February 08, 2012. In 2011 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred 319 mln. rubles for the implementation of port infrastructure development programme.
Main part of the funds was transferred for the renovation of the fleet of handling equipment. In particular 9 lift-trucks “Kalmar” with the lifting capacity from 10 up to 33 tons for handling of general cargoes, terminal tractor for the transportation of cargoes on roll-trailers with the weight up to 32 tons and 40’ roll-trailer with the lifting capacity of 70 tons were delivered last year.
2 mobile rubber-tyred Liebherr cranes LHM 600, suitable for handling of cargoes with the weight up to 140 tons were also delivered to the berths of the company.
New equipment will allow to increase the intensity of handling of cargoes and to decrease the expenses for maintenance and renovation of handling equipment.
Besides, starting from the beginning of 2011 works on reconstruction of railway tracks and facilities for smooth running of trains have been carried at the first and second cargo areas of the port. It is planned that all these measures will allow to increase the throughput capacity of the terminals for handling of metals up to 500 thousand tons per month.
