OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2012. Tatfondbank considered its performance in the plastic cards market in 2011. The number of the Bank’s cards in issue has grown by 20% over the year totalling nearly 400 000, reported the press-centre of Tatfondbank.

The balances of plastic card accounts increased over the year by more than 30% totalling RUB 3.14 billion at 1 January 2012.

In 2011, the vigorous development of merchant acquiring enabled the Bank to double increase the turnovers for non-cash transactions related to payment of commodities and services at trade and service enterprises equipped with the Bank’s terminals.

The number of the Bank’s own ATMs increased by 22%, up to 294. The service network offering commission-free withdrawal of cash currently exceeds 1200 ATMs.

In 2011, Tatfondbank joined the United Settlement System (USS), which gave the holders of its cards an opportunity to use ATMs and cash points of USS members on special privileged terms. At present, the USS network unites over 12 000 ATMs and more than 3 200 cash points located all over Russia.

The last year, Tatfondbank launched co-branded cards issued together with DOMO network of consumer electronics stores. Holders of co-branded cards benefit from bonuses they receive when paying with the card, which can be spent at DOMO stores. Besides, the co-branded card is also a credit card.

“The priority objectives of the Bank for 2012, as far as the plastic cards market is concerned, are to intensify the issue of plastic cards, expand the cash acceptance infrastructure, and to launch new co-branded products in cooperation with well-known enterprises’, said Radik Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Director of Tatfondbank’s Retail Business Department, commenting on the Bank’s plans for the future.
