OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2012. TNK-BP production units OJSC Orenburgneft and LLC Buguruslanneft have increased their drilling efficiency by 14% in 2011 compared to 2010, in addition to reducing the well drilling time as a result of the application of new technologies, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

The Company increased the footage of development drilling in the Orenburg Region by 15% up to 443,380 meters and put new 117 wells into operation in 2011, which is 11% more than in 2010. The time of well construction in the Bobrovskoe, Vakhitovskoe, Rybinskoe and Garshinskoe fields was reduced by 30%.

“By undertaking comprehensive measures aimed at higher drilling efficiency and use of advanced technologies, such as polycrystalline diamond cutter bits, we have considerably reduced the time required for drilling of wells,” said Konstantin Kulakov, Director, Drilling Department, OJSC Orenburgneft.
