New Peat-Burning Boiler-House Will Appear in Suojarvi

As Sergey Truntsev has told, the new boiler-house in Suojarvi will be built in summer by the next cold season. The boiler-house will be completely independent of the cardboard factory, as it will burn milled peat that will be extracted since spring at the deposit located near the town. In the boiler-house it is planned to install modern Finnish equipment, in particular, two boilers having a capacity of 12 and 6 megawatt. The smaller boiler will be used during the warm season to supply water to the town. First, apartment houses and social objects heated by the boiler-house of the cardboard factory will be linked to the new boiler-house. Next, the project provides connection to a new source of heat supply for consumers heated by other small boiler-houses.
It is also important that using peat is much more economically sound compared to using black oil. At the meeting it was pointed out that the cost price of heat in this case will decrease essentially, that will reduce heating prices for the population. Besides, peat is a local of fuel which delivery does not cost much, and Peter-Peat has experience in development of peat deposits.
Andrei Nelidov supported the investment project and has charged the Government of Karelia to render comprehensive support to its implementation. "It is not a business-project to us, on its social importance it is on the first place, – Head of the republic said. – You may count on serious support from the Government in this issue. We are doing it in order to approach the next cold season with your boiler-house which is not involved in any other commercial enterprise in any way, and supply the townspeople of Suojarvi with a guaranteed and quality heating of their houses."
