OREANDA-NEWS. February 6, 2012. Belarus’ fixed-capital investments and investments in construction totaled 90.845 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in 2011, or USD 10.854 billion at the official rate of the central bank, up 13.3% year on year, the National Statistics Committee told.

As much as 40.12 trillion rubles was spent on buying machines, equipment, and vehicles in 2011, up 19.6% from the 2010 level.

Investments in construction and assembly operations totaled 41.705 trillion rubles, up 8.4% on the year in 2011.

As much as 5.487 million square meters of new homes was commissioned in the period, down 21%.

In January-December 2011, as much as 37.64 trillion rubles worth of contract works was performed, up 1.5% from January-December 2010.

The figure for state-run enterprises went down 7% to 7.358 trillion rubles, private companies – up 4.1% to 29.935 trillion rubles, foreign-owned companies – up 38.6% to 347.1 billion rubles.
