OREANDA-NEWS. February 06, 2012. Ukraine and Moldova have good prospects for increasing commodity circulation. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this during his meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Vlad Filat.

He stressed that in 2011 the mutual trade turnover exceeded USD 1 billion, but has not yet reached pre-crisis levels.

"In 2011, the volume of bilateral trade exceeded USD 1 billion. This is a good indicator. There is a post-crisis recovery level of 2008-2009. Our pre-crisis turnover was 1.5 billion dollars so we have all opportunities to grow and to increase the turnover" - Mykola Azarov said.

At the same time the Prime Minister noted that Ukraine was interested in joining our construction companies in the development of infrastructure projects in Moldova, in creation leasing companies on operating in Moldova of Ukrainian agricultural machinery.

Mykola Azarov noted that Ukraine is interested in synchronous ratification by the parliaments of both countries an agreement establishing a free trade zone in the CIS.

The Head of Government called on the Moldovan side to intensify work on the demarcation of the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border in the problem areas and on the agreement on Dniester HPP operation.

In addition, the Head of Ukrainian Government asked Moldovan colleagues bring to the Moldovan Parliament a bill on ratification of the agreement on cooperation in the field of national minorities. Mykola Azarov noted that Ukraine last year performed all interstate procedures necessary for entry into force of this agreement.
