OREANDA-NEWS. February 3, 2012. UES System Operator (SO UES) signed contracts with OAO Irkutskenergo and OAO Krasnoyarskaya HPP for system reliability services in 2012. The power industry entities are to provide three types of services to ensure system reliability: standardized primary frequency control using power plants’ generating facilities, automatic secondary frequency and active-power flow control using power plants’ generating facilities, reactive-power control using the power plants’ generating facilities not producing power in the period of the respective services. By reactive-power control required voltage is sustained in the electric grid nodes. The control is mainly based on generators of power plants, as well as sources of reactive power installed in power grids and consumers’ facilities.
