OREANDA-NEWS. February 3, 2012. 20 January, 2012 at 08:00 (local time) CHPPs of OAO Irkutskenergo recorded a historical maximum of power load – 3,503 MW. Previously, the maximum thermal generation had been recorded in January 2008 – then CHPPs of OAO Irkutskenergo reached 3340 MW. The maximum was due to implementation of investment programmes by the company aiming to expand and upgrade the existing facilities. Thus, restrictions of installed capacity were removed at CHPP-9, a new heating main was commissioned in Angarsk (ТМ-6), electric restrictions removal was completed in the scheme of power distribution at Ust-Ilimskaya CHPP, turbine generator 2 at Novo-Ziminskaya CHPP was renovated, allowing the power plant to reach the capacity of 260 MW for the first time (which is above the installed capacity of 240 MW).
