OREANDA-NEWS. February 03, 2012. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov supports the introduction of long-term preferential tax treatment with the transitional arrangements for the IT industry. This was announced by the PM during a meeting with the organizers of business in sphere of information technology.

During the meeting they discussed issues of preparation for the second reading in parliament a bill to promote the industry, providing the ability to switch from the 5-year tax experiment to a permanent basis and the introduction of preferential tax rates, including rate of income tax of 5%.

Thus, Mykola Azarov voiced for increase in term of an establishment of a tax treatment: "No one will invest money seriously at calculation per 5 years. I think we would have to do 15-20 years, and it, as a matter of fact, is termless."

At the same time, during the discussions participants of the meeting agreed to establish a transitional period in respect of income tax in the IT field, which stipulates an establishment of the minimum rate, which would gradually rise. "Let's set the transitional provisions, maybe 5 years, 10 years. Also we will tell: we begin with the rate of 5 %, then 7 %, 9 %, 11 %, etc.," said Mykola Azarov.
