February 03, 2012. “We invite Italian businessmen to invest in industrial projects, especially in those export-oriented, although we are ready to maintain trade and financial sector too”, - Valeriu Lazar. This was stated by the ministry of economy at his meeting with representatives of Confindustria Moldova, association of patronages of Moldova.

According to its chairman Stephano Bernabeo, Italian businessmen are ready to invest in business in Moldova, and the Association is designed to create for the businessmen favorable conditions to expand their activity in our country. Valeriu Lazar has welcomed the whish of the association to express united consolidated message and noted that the authorities of Moldova are interested in steady contacts with business environment so that to know what problems foreign investors are facing in Moldova and what is necessary to handle them.

The minister of economy has also reminded about advantages of investing in Moldova, provided by its possibility to run preferential trade with EU and CIS. During the meeting Valeriu Lazar has told potential investors about large-scale program of privatization in Moldova and about projects on public-private partnership.

The minister of economy has called on Confindustria Moldova to provide Italian companies interested in these projects with the detailed information. The Association of Patronages Confindustria Moldova is the largest Italian confederation of unions of producers of goods and services. Italy is one of the biggest partners of Moldova. In 2011 it ranked the 4th among them, with trade turnover being over USD 500 mln. Among Moldova’s export partners Italy was the 3rd in last year (USD 200 mln.).
