Ust-Luga Port Takes Pedigree Cargo
OREANDA-NEWS. February 2, 2012. The ocean-going ship Ocean Outback delivered to Ust-Luga Port a batch of pedigree cattle from the port of Galveston (USA). 5,500 cows and 57 horses were transshipped at the multipurpose terminal "Yug-2" against order of ABH "Miratorg". The cargo was forwarded by "TransVentus".
The live cargo will reach the destination by the specialized motor transport. The territory of the terminal and the crowding platform made it possible to accept 170 trucks equipped with frameworks to transport cattle. However, "Yug-2" went on handling other cargoes simultaneously: the terminal was accepting rolling equipment and loading outsized cargoes to motor and railway vehicles.
This is not the first time when Ust-Luga Port takes a batch of pedigree stock. Since 2008, when "Yug-2" was launched, over 10 thsd. head of cattle have been transshipped through it.
