TNK-BP Reduced Mileage of Its Vehicles by 30% in 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2012. TNK-BP reduced the mileage of its vehicles by 6 million kilometers or 30% in 2011 owing to integration of satellite monitoring systems, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.
Onboard monitoring systems are installed on 16,000 vehicles of the company and its contractors providing objective information on their location, speed, mileage, and fuel consumption. These onboard monitoring systems help detect cases of over-speed, downtime, and deviation fr om the route. In case of an accident or sudden stop of a vehicle, a warning signal is automatically transmitted to the desk of an operator, who can determine the location of the vehicle in seconds and send assistance to the vehicle. The company thus raises the efficiency of its transport by optimizing logistical solutions and improves the safety of vehicular transportation by controlling the drivers in real time.
