OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2012. Over the January-December 2011, by all types of transport it is carried 649.6 million tons of cargoes - this is by 9.2% more than the volume of cargo transportations in 2010 (in 2010 it is transported 594.8 million tons of cargoes). This was announced by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Infrastructure Borys Kolesnikov during a press conference on the results of work in 2011.

During the year, the domestic airlines have been carried 100 thousand tons of cargoes - by 4.8% more than in 2010. The main aircraft cargo carriers are: ASTC "Antonov", "Ukraine International Airlines" "Aerosvit Airlines" and "Urga", as a whole transportations of goods were carried out by 21 domestic airlines.

The Vice-Premier of Ukraine stressed that efficient use of rolling stock and improvements of the economic situation in the country have allowed increasing the amount of cargo transportations and by rail. In 2011, in all types of traffic it is transported 468 million tons of cargoes (in 2010 - 433 million tons). For nomenclature of goods during the year it is most of all transported coal, iron and manganese ores, ferrous metals, oil and petroleum products, chemicals and artificial fertilizers, grain and grain products.

In January-December 2011, the motor transport has been transported 178 million tons of cargoes - this by 20 million tons more than in 2010.
