OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2012. At the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine was held a round table discussion of the forecast of the State Budget of Ukraine for 2013 and 2014.

Opening the meting the Minister of Finance Valery Horoshkovskyi said: "It is extremely important for us to hold a professional discussion on this, because we want to give the correct economic signals and landmarks to society and market".

It should be noted the forecast of the state budget has been developed for the first in the history of the Ministry of Finance. This document system is composed in accordance with the provisions of the Budget and Tax Code of Ukraine, the economic reform program for 2010-2014 "Wealthy society, competitive economy, effective state", the state target programs, including best practices in developed European countries in the medium-term budget planning.

During the discussion the participants exchanged views and proposals on the introduction of medium-term budget planning in Ukraine.

According to the Minister of Finance, the main tasks facing the state budget over the medium term are:

- establishment of a fair tax system that will ensure fiscal sufficiency and strengthening entrepreneurial potential;

- improving the welfare and quality of life by improving the economically reasonable social standards and safeguards, and improving the provision of benefits and allowances;

- reduction of public deficit and public debt share in GDP;

- attraction of investmentsin the economy, support for structural reforms;

- support of regional economic growth, strengthen economic and financial independence of local budgets;

- improvement of management of budget funds.
