OREANDA-NEWS.  February 1, 2012.  The Tikhvin Carriage Works Construction Project was implemented by the IST Group of Companies (CJSC) with Vnesheconombank’s participation. The Carriage Works is the first Russian production facility where unique high-level automation production technology to manufacture carriages and castings is being introduced.

The total value of the Carriage Works construction is 1 billon 298 million US dollars, Vnesheconombank’s participation share is 330 million US dollars.

The Carriage Works in the city of Tikhvin is a new generation unified technological complex with a full production cycle of railway carriages of new type with increased load-bearing capacity and extended service life. The Works’ capacity is 10 thousand carriages per year. The Works is expected to manufacture principally new freight carriages with carriage axle loading of 22.5 tons and 25 tons.

The project’s implementation will make it possible to meet the domestic market’s demand for renovating railway carriage fleet and create up to 3500 new jobs, raise qualification of personnel involved in manufacturing railway carriages, launch the manufacturing of advanced efficient transport products, increase budget revenues in the budgets of all levels for an entire period of the project’s implementation to 200 million US dollars.
