Companies of Moldova to Install POS-Terminals
OREANDA-NEWS. February 01, 2012. The companies of Moldova whose annual turnover has exceeded 2 mln. leis have to install POS-terminals. As the ministry of finance informs, according the fiscal policy for 2012, starting from July, 2, economic entities of Moldova whose annual wholesales/retail/services sales result has exceeded 2 mln. leis within the preceding calendar year, have to establish POS-terminals till July,1 of the following year and to provide possibility to perform payments via POS terminals in those subsidiaries where the sales result has exceeded 500 thou,. leis, with the exception of small-scale retail chains.
At the same time, the above-mentioned companies are not obliged to establish POS-terminals if they use cashless payments only, with the exception of payments via commercial banks, and if the payments have been performed in rural areas, with the exceptions of villages – parts of municipalities and cities.
Infringement of this regulation entails fines at the amount of 6 thou. leis for each incident. If within 30 days since the fine is imposed an economic agent does not comply with the regulation, it will be imposed on the fine at the amount of 18 thou. leis. Monitoring and penalizing is the responsibility of fiscal bodies.
