OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2012. The State Agency for energy efficiency and energy saving in the shortest time should prepare proposals for the large-scale launching of energy saving projects with the use of alternative fuel sources, increasing the quantity and quality of investment projects on construction of wind and solar power plants.

The relevant order of Board of the Ministry Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine there was voiced by the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Vadym Kopylov.

"Increasing energy efficiency and energy independence is one of the key tasks of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and an important prerequisite for improving competitiveness of the state," he stressed.

Following the results of meeting of Board of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine it is identified a number of tasks for central and local executive authorities.

In particular, the MEDT together with the Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Environment should take measures to increase production of oil and natural gas in Ukraine.

In addition, the Ministry of Economic Development should work over the issue of possibility of establishing a system of effective monitoring and adjustment of adopted state programs as well as to establish mechanisms of project management.

"2012 will be the year of summing the first results of activities of power in the new format. This year should ensure us qualitative structural changes in the economy," stressed Vadym Kopylov. "I want emphasize once again the main objectives of 2012 – our Ministry, all central executive authorities should ensure unconditional fulfillment of the national plan of action for 2012 to implement the program of economic reforms," the First Deputy Minister summed up.
