Ukrainian Equipment Will Enable to Control Parameters of Ionosphere
OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2012. From the cargo transport spacecraft "Progress M-13M" there was separated the Russian Mikrosputnik "Chybis-M" intended for the study of lightning discharges in the atmosphere.
The structure of the spacecraft onboard equipment includes devices that are within steps of the National Space Program of Ukraine made by Ukrainian scientists of the Lviv Centre of the Space Research Institute of the National Academy of Sciences – National Space Agency of Ukraine.
The devices are intended for measurement of the ionospheres’ plasma parameters.
Results of space experiment expect to use for deepen of fundamental knowledge about the nature of "space weather" as well as for improvement of mathematical models to predict its impact on biological and technological processes on Earth.
Turning on devices scheduled for the second week of February.
