OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2012. The volume of exports of Uzbekistan in 2011 increased by 15.4% compared to 2010 and made up over US billion, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers.

He said that huge attention to structural changes and diversification of leading industries of economy positively impacted the volume, nomenclature and quality of exports.

The volume of exports grew by 15.4% year-on-year in 2011 to over US billion, or 4.6 times compared to 2000, he added.

Uzbek leader said that current trade balance surplus made up US.5 billion in 2011. Share of ready products in exports reached 60% compared to 46% in 2000.
